Norteno gang member sought in convenience store shooting
HURON — A local man is recovering from multiple gunshots wounds suffered following a verbal altercation outside a convenience store in Huron Tuesday morning.
The victim, whose identity has been withheld pending completion of the investigation, was shot twice in the lower abdomen with a .32 caliber handgun at a distance of approximately 10 to 15 feet, a Huron Police Department release said. The victim is undergoing treatment at an undisclosed location.
The suspect, Jose Antonio Dominguez, 23 of Huron, fled the scene on foot and remains at large. The weapon has not been recovered. The shooting is believed to be gang related.
Dominguez, a validated member of Huron’s violent Norteno criminal street gang, has prior arrests for assault with a deadly weapon with a gang enhancement and attempted murder. He should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.
