Three Arrested in Under-Age Alcohol Sales
WASCO — A sting in the City of Wasco has three local businesses facing the potential loss of their liquor licenses.
La Nortena Bakery at 1000 “F” Street, Wasco Chevron at 2033 Highway 46, and Amigo’s Meat Market at 829 Highway 46 may face Alcoholic Beverage Control administrative sanctions due to their employees selling alcohol to minor decoys.
The month-long operation, made possible through grant funding, was conducted countywide by detectives with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office working in cooperation with agents from the State of California ABC.
Arrested during the sting were 33-year-old Tanyia Gonzales, 22-year-old Andrea Cavazos, and a 17-year-old minor, all from Wasco, for sales of alcohol to a minor.
Investigators from the sheriff’s office also conducted a zero tolerance undercover enforcement operation at the Kern County Raceway in Bakersfield, which resulted in the arrest of 19-year-old Alexandria Banning of Bakersfield for being a minor in possession of alcohol.
