MORENO VALLEY- Responding to several disturbance calls, Moreno Valley police arrested a man identified as a carjacker and lying in the street in his underwear.
On Monday, January 20, the Moreno Valley Police Department received several calls regarding an individual causing a disturbance on the 13000 block of Larkhaven Drive in Moreno Valley. Within minutes, officers arrived on the scene. Once there, officers discovered several citizens attempting to detain an adult male. The man was lying in the street, wearing only his underwear.
After detaining several people, Officers pieced the story together. Speaking with a victim and a witness, they ultimately determined that the man prone in the street was a suspect who had attempted to carjack the victim’s vehicle.
The suspect was then identified as c, a 49-year-old resident of the city of Riverside. Officers then proceeded to take Hickman into custody. According to Sergeant Todd Torrenti, as Hickman was being arrested, he began to show signs of being in obvious medical distress. Officers called for an ambulance immediately. When medical personnel arrived, they took Hickman to the hospital for treatment.
At this time, there is no further information being released. Investigators from the Moreno Valley Police Department and Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the scene and have assumed the investigation.
