ROSAMOND — A pair of convicted felons were arrested on Friday afternoon when sheriff’s deputies raided a marijuana dispensary located in eastern Kern County.
Adam Rivera, 31, and 40-year-old David Peralta, who also goes by the alias of David Valencia, both of Tehachapi, were booked into the Kern County Jail on multiple charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and participation in a criminal street gang.
Rivera already had an active warrant for his arrest for being a felon in possession of a firearm, while Valencia was on active sheriff’s parole.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the two men were working inside the business when deputies assigned to the Rosamond substation served a search warrant at the dispensary located in the 1700 block of Sierra Highway in Rosamond at around 2 p.m. on Jan. 31.
Assisted by Kern County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit, the deputies raided the storefront.
“Inside deputies found both Peralta and Rivera and three firearms located in a safe,” said sheriff’s spokesperson Ray Pruitt. “One of which was a pistol-grip 12-gauge breaching shotgun.”
Among the other weapons that deputies said they found, were a Sig Sauer .40 Caliber semi-automatic pistol and a FN 5.7 X 28 semi-automatic pistol. Both pistols were registered to Peralta.
During their search, deputies also located over 200 rounds of ammunition.
