FRESNO – Four Bulldog gang members were taken into custody after someone called the police to report that they were shooting off shotguns in a southeast Fresno neighborhood.
Neighbors told police that the suspects had moved to the neighborhood a few weeks earlier and liked to fire shotguns into the air. Officers responded to an early morning Saturday call from a neighbor about the gunshots.
Officers learned that two of the men were on felony probation, so their residence could be searched. During the search, officers found two sawed-off shotguns hidden in the yard. They also discovered a cell phone with camera pictures of the four men posing with the shotguns, authorities said.
Officers arrested Murphy Rodriguez, Sr., 36; Murphy Rodriguez, Jr., 19; Andrew Rodriguez, 18; and a 17-year-old juvenile who police did not name. The men were booked on weapons charges.
Police declined to state the neighborhood where the arrests took place, as it could spark a child endangerment issue.
