The San Luis Obispo Police arrested a male juvenile for allegedly committing vehicle burglaries Thursday morning at approximately 3:45 a.m.
According to SLOPD, they were patrolling the area of Pereira and Madonna Road for criminal activity. They were focusing on car burglaries due to reports of car break-ins in the area.
Patrolling officers said they were driving southbound on Pereira when they saw several dome lights on in vehicles parked on the street.
Officers saw a juvenile male walking in front of them approximately 100 yards away.
Police say the male started running when he saw the patrol car’s headlights.
Officers caught the male suspect on the 11000 block of Los Osos Valley Road.
The suspect was in possession of stolen property from the vehicles in the area.
More stolen property was recovered by police after a search of the suspect’s residence was conducted.
The juvenile was booked in to San Luis Obispo Juvenile Services Center and charged with possession of stolen property and theft. Because of the age of the suspect, his identity is withheld.
