Reckless Driver Arrested In Vacaville For Carrying Molotov Cocktail in his Truck
After a Vacaville Police officer witnessed a pick-up truck running a stop sign on Markham Avenue, a chase ensued, and, at its conclusion, police arrested the driver for carrying a Molotov cocktail in the truck.
As Saturday night turned to Sunday morning, beginning at about 12:33 am on May 11, when the police officer spotted a pickup truck whose driver accelerated past the stop sign at speeds that were soon in excess of double the post speed limit. The pickup driver tried evasive maneuvers, such as crossing through oncoming traffic and turning off his lights.
The police officer, after the pursuit lasted more than a mile, eventually caught up with the stop sign running pickup truck driver at Vine Street.
After the driver pulled over, police searched his pickup truck and discovered the Molotov Cocktail. Traffic was halted along Vine Street briefly while a detective dismantled the primitive but potentially effective bomb–a bottle filled with gasoline with a gas-soaked rag stuffed in the neck to serve as the fuse.
Adam Sexson, 44, of Vacaville, the pickup truck driver, was arrested and charged with possession of a bomb, reckless driving, and felony evasion.
