SANTA ROSA — On May 18th just after 1:30 a.m., Santa Rosa police officers arrived at the Chrome Lotus Bar at 501 Mendocino Avenue to find one hell of a throwdown going on.
The department had already received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a physical altercation out in the intersection of Mendocino and 7th. Once officers arrived and things had cooled down, details emerged.
Santa Rosa local Troy Michael Moore (29) had gotten himself into a confrontation with a group leaving the bar after he punched a woman in the face, knocking her unconscious, for whatever reason. The woman’s boyfriend confronted him and that’s when the big scuffle erupted — Moore stabbed the guy twice in the upper body and the two were still fighting tooth and nail when officers turned up.
The unidentified man was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, officers were now turning their attention to one Wayne Gregory Patrick (46), another Santa Rosa resident who’d been intoxicated and hurling gang challenges and threats, shouting the name of his gang and threatening an acquaintance of the man who’d just been stabbed. Turns out Patrick had come looking to back up Moore, his friend and fellow gang member.
Both Moore and Patrick are active gang members with a lengthy history of gang involvement in Santa Rosa. Moore was arrested and booked for battery with serious injuries, assault with a deadly weapon, and two charges of felony gang enhancement. Patrick was booked for challenging to fight in public and gang enhancement.
