Arraignment Delayed Third Time For Wife Who Allegedly Killed Husband
The Woodland resident who is alleged to have shot her husband to death has not qualified for the public defender’s legal services. At a hearing on August 12 in Yolo Superior Court, her arraignment was postponed a third time to enable her to hire her own attorney.
Susan Kathleen Hoskins, 59, has not recorded a plea yet. She faces charges of murder and “the intentional and personal discharge of a firearm causing great bodily injury.” On August 3, her husband Bryan Morris Hoskins, 60, was pronounced dead at Ms. Hoskins’s condominium on Knollwood Drive.
The Yolo County Public Defenders Office disclosed that Ms. Hoskins, who had a well-paying job prior to her arrest, was able to pay for her own defense.
Yolo Superior Court Commissioner Janene Beronio ordered Ms. Hoskins back to court at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 21. Meanwhile, Ms. Hoskins continues her lodgings without bail at the Yolo County Jail.
