Bakersfield Tagger Arrested for Drugs and Over 100 Cases of Graffiti
BAKERSFIELD — A tagger suspected of being the primary suspect in over 100 cases of graffiti in the City of Bakersfield is behind bars after being arrested on Tuesday.
Misael Flores,19, of Bakersfield was booked into the Kern County Jail for possession of methamphetamine for sale and malicious mischief.
According to Bakersfield Police Department Public Information Officer Sergeant Joe Grubbs, the incident began when officers assigned to the department’s graffiti habitual offender suppression team responded to the 3900 block of Serrano Avenue to contact Flores at around noon on Sept. 23.
While on their way, officers said they observed Flores in the area, and when he spotted them, discarded a plastic container which contained several individually wrapped packages of methamphetamine.
Flores admitted to officers possessing the methamphetamine for sales and causing over $7,400 worth of graffiti damage in the City of Bakersfield over the past several months. He had been arrested earlier this year on vandalism charges and public intoxication.
If found guilty, Flores arrest will clear 132 graffiti cases on file with the BPD.
