FRESNO – A 17-year-old male suspect and two other men believed to be involved in a hot-prowl burglary in southeast Fresno last week are behind bars.
Officers with the Fresno Police Department arrested 18-year-old Michael Garcia and 21-year-old Christopher Hicks in connection to the burglary. A juvenile, who police declined to name, was also arrested and booked into the Juvenile Justice Center.

The burglary happened last Thursday around 3:30 a.m. in the 5700 block of East Grant Avenue. Three suspects broke into a home and took several items, including the keys to two vehicles, which they drove away in.
The victim tracked one of those vehicles using a cell phone app, helping officers to locate it at Cedar and McKinley avenues. When the driver failed to stop, the officers continued to follow the vehicle to Ninth Street near Venture Avenue, where an officer was able to force it to stop by clipping the vehicle’s rear bumper.
Garcia and Hicks were arrested in the vehicle. Garcia faces possess of stolen property and being a member of a criminal street gang. Hicks was booked on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and burglary.
The 17-year-old boy attempted to run from the car and evade police, but a police dog caught him. The boy sustained some injuries fighting with the dog and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was then arrested on charges of felony evading and possession of a stolen vehicle.
