The Paso Robles Police are searching for a suspect in a gang-related shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning.
According to PRPD officials, officers responded to a call around 5:56 a.m. Tuesday morning at the 800 block of Sycamore Canyon Rd. regarding reports of possible gunshots. Once officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a 34-year-old resident who told them he was assaulted by a Hispanic male.
The victim told investigators he was getting ready to leave for work when he was confronted by the assailant by the victim’s work truck.
The suspect had a handgun and started chasing him from the work truck, firing the gun at him.
Police say the victim was not hit by the bullets nor were there any other injuries reported However, there was evidence of the gunfire in the nearby vehicles in the neighborhood that received damage from the gunfire. Detectives could not find any other witnesses.
However, the suspect’s car has been described a black full-size SUV, possibly a Cadillac. The victim said he thinks two more men were in the vehicle along with the suspect. The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male adult, wearing a black hoodie and a baseball cap.
Police believe the shooting is gang-related as the victim is believed to have gang ties to the King City area.
