LOS ANGELES – Adding to her on-screen accomplishments and contributions to Hollywood lore, Lindsay Lohan may now have redefined what it means to “do time.”
While Hollywood prison classics like Cool Hand Luke, Escape from Alcatraz and The Shawshank Redemption tend to portray prison life as despairing, miserable (so much denim!) and often dangerous, serving time hasn’t been so bad for the recently convicted Lohan, who played party hostess to 10 BFs on her Venice rooftop Sunday while serving her court-ordered custody sentence at home.
TMZ reports that Lindsay threw the “very mellow” bash “because she simply missed hanging out.”
Though Lohan is required to wear an ankle-bracelet monitor and is subject to surprise drug tests and visits from probation officers, California’s house arrest guidelines often allow visitors, according to E!Online.
The home-incarcerated Freaky Friday starlet entertained her lounging guests with beverages and a BBQ. The group then reportedly settled into the season premiere of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
While most prisoners may be known to communicate with secret notes or by pounding on the pipes in their cells, Lohan was able to tweet Kim Kardashian for the occasion: “So excited for the season premiere of Keeping up with the Kardashians Season 6 tonight on E!”
“This season is crazy! Love u.” Kardashian reportedly tweeted back.
Lohan has about two and a half weeks of her in-home sentence remaining and will begin her several hundred hours of community service when it concludes. The punishment stems from Lohan’s no contest plea for stealing a necklace from a Venice jeweler.
