HAWTHORNE, CA—If one is going to pursue forging financial and personal documents far from home, perhaps one should do it……far from home.
Ricardo Villegas, 37, was apprehended by Hawthorne police officers on Tuesday, May 5 at approximately 9:21 a.m. along the 600 block of South Fir Avenue in Hawthorne. The Inglewood resident was charged with forgery (470(A)PC), making or passing fictitious checks (476PC), using or acquiring an access card (or ATM card) in four or more names over the course of 12 months (484E(D)PC), possession of a controlled substance (11377(A)HS), possession drug paraphernalia (11364(A)HS), and using another person’s identification (530.5PC). He was also found to have a warrant issued from Los Angeles PD for possession of a controlled substance.
Bail for the new charges was set at $76,000; there was no bail listed for the warrant.
It’s unknown how much money may have been made, or if any was alleged to have been made, but it will take quite a bit of work of any kind to post bail, bad checks not accepted.
