INGLEWOOD, CA—The odds at Hollywood Park Casino, an Inglewood-based betting palace that sits on the property beside the now defunct Hollywood Park Race Track at the corner of Century Boulevard and Prairie Avenue, tend to be low.
Tarik Rashidi Wise, 36, took the bet of not getting a second DUI as he drove near the casino however, but on Tuesday, May 12, he lost that bet. Inglewood police officers picked him up at the corner of Century Boulevard and La Brea at approximately 12:34 a.m. The self-proclaimed “cabin cleaner” was charged with DUI: alcohol/drugs (23152(A)VC) and DUI: alcohol/0.08 percent (23152(B)VC).
He was found to have a number of warrants from a multitude of Southland police agencies: failure to appear after making a written promise (853.7PC), driving without a license (12500(A)VC), failure to appear (40508(A)VC), and two more driving without a license warrants from two South Bay PDs.
The total bail for the charges and warrants was set at $28,865, an amount that would most likely have been better spent on a driver’s license and economy car.
