MCFARLAND — A pair of Bakersfield women were arrested last Wednesday in McFarland for allegedly selling black tar heroin.
Patsy Perkins, 55, and 54-year-old Brenda Mayall, both of Bakersfield, were booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Department Central Receiving Facility on possession of a controlled substance for sales, transportation of a controlled substance for sales and other drug related charges.
According to the McFarland Police Department, the women were taken into custody when officers discovered one half pound of suspected tar heroin after conducting a traffic stop of the vehicle Perkins and Mayhall were driving, at around 7 p.m. on May 27, in the city of McFarland.
During the stop, officers said they noticed a bag containing an estimated $18,000 of heroin, which the one of the suspects had dropped outside the door of the vehicle. After a search of the vehicle, officers said they also found other items consistent with narcotic sales and seized over $1,600 in cash.
Records show that Mayall has a previous arrest in 2013 for disorderly conduct/prostitution.
