According to two Community Alerts issued by San Rafael Police Department (SRPD), two prowlers and a burglar were apprehended within 24 hours of each other.
On Wednesday, July 15 at approximately 7 am, a San Rafael homeowner reported seeing a suspicious person in their backyard on Devon Drive. After the homeowner confronted the man, the subject then ran down the street and got into a vehicle. The homeowner reported the vehicle information to SRPD dispatch and the information was broadcast immediately to patrol units.
SRPD Officers located the car on southbound Highway 101 near the Freitas Parkway exit and conducted a traffic stop. The occupants were detained for further investigation.
While investigating further details of the incident with the homeowner on Devon Drive, officers found that the vehicle being driven by the suspects was stolen out of Oakland. One of the vehicle’s occupants was also found to have an outstanding “no bail warrant” from San Francisco PD for a probation violation.
The suspects were identified as 39-year-old David E. Diamond of Daly City and 40-year-old Faunte Leshawn Wolfe, a transient of San Francisco. Diamond was charged with prowling, taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and committing a felony while out on bail. Wolfe was charged with prowling, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, providing false information to a peace officer, and a probation violation warrant. Both were booked into the Marin County Jail. Diamond reported his occupation on the arrest report as a sales manager, while Wolfe said he is in construction.

Diamond had been arrested just two weeks prior, on Wednesday, July 1 for possession of a stolen vehicle, along with illegal narcotics. The busy burglar/sales manager had also been arrested twice in June for drug possession, transportation and sales, possession of paraphernalia, an illegal billy club or blackjack type weapon, burglary tools, and for theft.
The day after Diamond and Wolfe were arrested, on July 16 at approximately 5 pm, a 911 call was received about an interrupted residential burglary on Upper Toyon Drive in the Fairfax area, west of San Rafael. A nanny with two children had returned to a residence to find a suspect inside the home. The man was carrying several bags of stolen property, but dropped them and fled after being confronted. San Rafael Police responded and established a perimeter around the area. Marin County Sheriff’s Deputies and Officers from the Ross Police Department also assisted.
Upper Toyon Drive is a narrow winding road running between distinctive homes in the Fairfax area.
The suspect was located in the area and taken into custody. He was found to be in possession of stolen property taken from the residence on Upper Toyon Drive. The suspect was identified as Ryland Robert Morgan, a 32-year-old man from San Rafael with no known address. Morgan is charged with burglary of an inhabited dwelling and a probation violation. He was booked into the Marin County Jail.
Morgan had been arrested in December of last year on charges of driving on a license suspended for past reckless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with violating parole. Earlier records show a history of drug and traffic violations.
