SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco police are looking for a woman who allegedly stole $35,000 worth of valuables from an apartment she rented through AirBnB, the online home rental website that has become popular among residents and vacationers in major cities.
Earlier this year in April, a resident rented out her Outer Sunset home to a customer through the online rental site. The customer, now a prime suspect, has been identified as Jana Dominguez, 27, of Richmond, Calif.
As a renter Dominguez had access to most of the apartment, except for an office and closet in which the formal resident stored valuables. During her stay, Dominguez broke into the locked rooms and stole the merchandise, according to police. they didn’t specify what was taken.
Surveillance footage provided to police by the victim shows Dominguez speaking to the owner of the store below the apartment she later ransacked. It also shows the suspect snooping around the office from which she stole.
Dominguez has a felony warrant for second degree burglary and falsely impersonating another person. She had been arrested a week ago Sunday, July 26 in Rohnert Park for possession of narcotics and paraphernalia.

In the past, Dominguez has been arrested in Solano County for petty theft, possession of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance, failure to appear for both a misdemeanor and felony, embezzlement by person, reckless driving, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to available records. She has also recently been arrested in Marin and Sonoma Counties on similar charges. In February 2014 she was arrested at a Novato motel when found in possession and under the influence of heroin and methamphetamine.
She also has a record of several drug related arrests under the name Jana Dominquez.
Police did not say whether the most recent burglary was drug related.
