BAKERSFIELD— A 45-year-old man who held SWAT members at off for nearly 12 hours was arrested last Friday.
Bradley Hill was booked into the Kern County Jail for exhibiting a firearm with the intent to avoid a detention.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the standoff began at around 2:30 a.m. on December 11, when deputies went to a home in the 18000 block of Brimhall Road to check the welfare of the resident.
Deputies said that when arrived they attempted to detain Hill, but he brandished a gun, forcing them to retreat.
Sheriff’s crisis negotiators arrived on scene and tried to get Hill to exit the building unarmed.
After several hours, Hill refused and a SWAT team was called in.
Nearly 12 hours later, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Hill eventually surrendered and was taken into custody after briefly resisting. He was transported to a local hospital and released.
According to the Kern County Superior Court web site, Hill awaiting trial for a similar incident that resulted in his arrest back in October of this year.
