An unusual arrest was made on Monday in Madera after a gang-related crime involving a college student.
According to the official media report released by the Madera County Department of Corrections, Alex Gaspar Barragan (23) was apprehended for shooting at an inhabited dwelling/vehicle, criminal gang activity, prevention/dissuasion of witness by force or threat, resisting a public officer, and committing felonies on bail.
Per MCDC reports, Barragan is a full-time college student. It is not known why he has chosen to establish gang ties.
He is currently housed on $1,951,000 bail and could face 20 years if convicted.
