CATHEDRAL CITY – Authorities arrested two suspects while serving two narcotics-related search warrants as well as discovering currency, drugs, and drug paraphernalia.
On January 13, deputies and officers assigned to the Coachella Valley Narcotics Task Force with assistance from the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force and the Cathedral City Police Department served two narcotics-related search warrants.
The first was served in the 68900 block of Tortuga Road and 32300 block of Monte Vista Road. While searching the Tortuga Road location, authorities confiscated approximately $14,000 in US currency.
The second search warrant was served in the 32300 block of Monte Vista Road. According to press release from the Riverside Sheriff’s Department, officers confiscated of approximately 20 grams of suspected cocaine, approximately 40 grams of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 70 pounds of marijuana, along with other items related to the sales of marijuana and narcotics.
Riverside Sheriff’s Department reports that the marijuana located at the Monte Vista Road location exceeded an approximate street value of $28,800. There was also cocaine with an estimated street value of $1,400, and methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $1,600.
Two suspects were arrested during the warrants, 34 year-old Juan Franco and 31 year-old Amanda Parada, both Cathedral City residents. They were booked into the Riverside County Jail for possession of marijuana for sales and illegally cultivating marijuana.
