SBSD display confiscated marijuana grow
SAN BERNARDINO – Three men were arrested when the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Marijuana Enforcement Team raided a warehouse, seizing 2,600 pounds last week, along with a stolen car from El Monte.
The suspects, all from Los Angeles County – Alex Wan, 26, of Pico Rivera, plus San Gabriel residents Guo Ming, 47, and Lijun Pan, 49 – were taken into custody and eventually released.
A search warrant was presented at a warehouse at 455 South G Street at 1:30 p.m. on April 26. All three suspects were at the scene while Pan and Ming tried to hide inside the trash-filled building, an effort to elude the deputies.
Wan did not try to hide, according to reports.
The MET team discovered the building had been modified by the suspects “strictly for cultivating marijuana.”
Among the other discoveries was that several building code violations were spotted at the property, according to deputies’ reports. Either the tenants or property owners may be issued a citation, according to authorities.
It was unknown, said investigators, “where the suspects were planning to take the marijuana once harvested, but evidence gathered during the initial investigation suggests that they were not in compliance with California medical marijuana laws and local ordinances.”
San Bernardino law prohibits marijuana dispensaries, including the cultivation of marijuana.
The stolen vehicle, a Toyota Tundra pickup, was returned to its owners.
Wan, who was booked in Central Detention Center for cultivation of marijuana and possession of a stolen car, was released on $50,000 bail. He does not yet have a court date scheduled.
Pan, whose bail was initially set at $25,000, was released on a $50,000 bond, facing the same marijuana charges. He faces a Friday afternoon court date in San Bernardino Superior Court.
Ming, sent to the West Valley Detention Center, was released on a $25,000 bail bond, according to court records. No court date has yet to be released on his case.
