(L to R): Devan Grothe, Austin Jordan, Wesley Moore
FRESNO – Officers discovered that three men had stolen goods from a River Park Little League clubhouse in northeast Fresno after seeing a trail of candy that led from their location back to the clubhouse, police said.
On May 12, just before 2 a.m., a resident in the neighborhood near Fresno and Alluvial avenues heard a group of males arguing in the park behind her house and called the police department.
Officers arriving on the scene found three 18-year-old men – identified as Wesley Moore, Devan Grothe, and Austin Jordan – standing in a business complex near Kasier Park. One of the men tried to climb a fence and run from officers, but was found hiding nearby.
The men had what appeared to be stolen property from the clubhouse of the River Park Little League complex, which officers discovered had been burglarized.
One of the stolen items was a box of candy that had a hole in it. The three men unknowingly left a trail o’ candy and other stolen items from the clubhouse to where they were stopped by the officers.
The men were booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of burglary and conspiracy, and all of the stolen property was returned to River Park Little League.
