The San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a man suspected of continually molesting a minor over the course of several years.
The Sheriff’s Office received information concerning allegations of abuse of a child under the age of 10 years old. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Sexual Assault Unit began an investigation and identified 22-year-old Angel Manuel Ponce of Nipomo as the culprit. Authorities believe Ponce knew the girl’s family and had had numerous encounters with her over the years.
Ponce was arrested at his home for one count of sexual intercourse or sodomy with a victim under 10 years old. No other victims have been identified as of yet, though detectives are asking for the public’s help should there be other victims out there.
