A Sacramento man was arrested on Wednesday, June 8, on suspicion of robbing fifteen sandwich shops in the Sacramento and Placer County area, including shops in Colfax and Granite Bay. According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was identified as 28-year-old Frank Eugene Solorzano Jr.

On Saturday, June 4, Solorzano allegedly robbed a Subway sandwich shop in Colfax. Investigators were able to identify Solorzano as the suspect soon afterwards.

Because so many shops were robbed, a joint investigation was conducted.  In addition to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, several law enforcement agencies in Nevada and northern California were involved in the investigation.

An arrest warrant was obtained and, with the assistance of the Folsom and Roseville Police Departments, Solorzano was taken into custody without incident in Sacramento. The suspect was charged with multiple counts of robbery and was booked into the Placer County Jail in Auburn. Solorzano’s bail was set at $605,500.
