HOLLISTER — Police have arrested and booked a 16-year-old juvenile on charges of marijuana sales and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, after he admitted to selling marijuana-laced edibles to two other juveniles.
On Friday, July 15, Hollister Police officer David Anderson responded to the local hospital on reports of a possible marijuana overdose.
Once on scene, he was met by two juveniles — one 15, the other 14 — who complained of breathing problems and that they were feeling ill. Officer Anderson noticed symptoms of extreme lethargy, among other things, that seemed to indicate the two were heavily under the influence of marijuana.
They said they’d bought laced cookies from another juvenile.
It wasn’t long before Anderson was able to locate the 16-year-old who’d sold the cookies. He said he’d bought them from another person before turning them around and selling them to the two who’d ended up calling police.
The third juvenile was arrested and booked into San Benito County Jail.
