LODI — Police have charged 36-year-old Wendell Anthony Lindsey with the April 2nd, 2016 murder of Luis Alvarez Jr on South Main Street.
On that day at around 12:30 AM, officers arrived at 18 S. Main and found Alvarez with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
After months of investigation, detectives developed enough leads and evidence to charge Lindsey with the crime. As it turned out, when the time came, he was already in custody at the San Joaquin County Jail.
