On March 27th, around 8:30 p.m., a report of a bad car collision was released and California Highway Patrol officers immediately got to the scene at Highway 43 on Idaho Avenue in Hanford.
When officers investigated the scene, there were three deceased victims from the collision. The victims were identified as Alphonso Wimbley, 55, Kristin Wimbley, 44, and Kyan Wimbley, 13, who resided in Corcoran.
The man who caused the collision was intoxicated and was identified as Adalberto Lara Carrillo, 42, of Tulare.
According to authorities, Carrillo ran through a stop sign and hit a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox with his 1992 Chevrolet Silverado. Alphonso and Kyan died on the spot, while Kristin was severely injured and was transported to a local medical center immediately. She later died in the hospital. All victims were wearing seat belts.
Authorities discovered that Carrillo had been driving with a suspended drivers license for a DUI arrest with over a .15 BAC, that occurred in January of 2016.
Carrillo has been charged with three counts of homicide, gross vehicular manslaughter, felony DUI, and an enhancement for his BAC being over .15 (again).
If convicted, Carrillo faces maximum sentence of three life prison terms for the homicide charges, plus 50 years to life for the other charges, said the report.
