CHICO — On April 19th, Butte County Sheriff’s Deputies served a search warrant at a residence on Gaia Way.
41-year-old Jason Coy had been arrested three days previous after items from a home burglary in North Chico were found in his possession.
During a search of Coy’s home, deputies discovered several articles of stolen property including “firearms, ammunition, chainsaws, power tool equipment, bicycles and generators.” A butane honey oil lab and a significant amount of methamphetamine were also uncovered, and deputies believe some of the items discovered are tied to multiple unsolved burglaries throughout North Chico and southern Tehama County.
Coy is now in custody on several charges, including “manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of stolen property, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and being a felon in possession of ammunition.”
26-year-old Deven Smith — Coy’s girlfriend — and 24-year-old Jose Hernandez were also arrested at Coy’s home on various drug and weapon charges.
