HACIENDA HEIGHTS – A basketball coach pleaded not guilty today to an unlawful sexual relationship with a minor.
29-year-old La Habra Heights resident Terrence Lee was charged with 2 counts – lewd act on a child and oral copulation of someone under 16 years of age.
Lee was basketball coach at Cedarlane Academy. It is alleged that he had a relationship with a female student that began in April of this year.
In June a family member of the girl came upon sexually explicit messages that Lee and the youth exchanged.
Lee was arrested on June 10, bonded out on June 11 and will return to court on July 17.
The maximum sentence for a conviction is 44 months in prison, as well as a sex offender registration for life.
