HOLLISTER — 37-year-old Pedro Ramirez is on custody on firearm and DUI charges after an incident on July 8th.
That night at around 7:30 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the area of Union Road & Cienega Road after reports of a person firing a gun from a “black, lowered” pick-up truck.
As dispatch relayed the call, an officer spotted the vehicle on Memorial Drive and attempted a stop, but it continued on. The officer stayed on the truck, following it to the Ladd Lane School area, where the driver got out and tried to flee on foot.
The officer gave chase and caught him in fairly short order. After a brief struggle, Ramirez was arrested. A loaded semi-automatic handgun was found on his person.
He is housed at San Benito County Jail on charges of “carrying a concealed firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, resisting arrest, evading, felon in possession of a firearm, and DUI.”
