Zachary Hamlin
SAN LUIS OBISPO — During the month of July, there have been 4o stolen vehicle reports filed in the SLO, Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, and Pismo Beach communities.
Most of the vehicles stolen were late 90’s to early 2000’s Honda Civics and Accords. On July 24, investigators named 37-year-old Zachary Hamlin as a suspect in at least several of the thefts on the SLPD Facebook page and included his photo.
Then the next day the SLO police and Arroyo Grande police located a stolen vehicle as it sat parked in the 200 block of Whitely Street in Arroyo Grande. They waited and watched and soon after, investigators spotted Hamlin entering the stolen vehicle. As they attempted to arrest him, Hamlin ran away but was discovered hiding behind a parked car.
Hamlin was booked on several counts of possessing a stolen vehicle and possession of burglary tools.
