Suspect in stabbing arrested (OnScene.TV)
FULLERTON — At 1:41 AM today, Fullerton Police immediately responded to a 911 call about a woman screaming that she’d been stabbed. As they arrived at the 100 block of South Pritchard, they found a 50-year-old woman outside of an apartment complex with a stab wound to her abdomen.
A second victim, a 75-year-old man, was found stabbed in the arm. The suspect had fled upon seeing the officers arrive.
Both victims were transported to local trauma centers. The woman was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The elderly man is listed in serious condition.
Investigators found that the male suspect in his 30s is the son of the deceased woman. He had been living with his mother (the deceased victim), her boyfriend (the victim in serious condition), and the suspect’s sister (the deceased woman’s daughter).
Reports state that at some time during the evening, the suspect engaged in an argument with his adult sister and then returned to his bedroom. When his mother tried speaking with him through the bedroom door, he refused to open it. He finally opened the door with a knife in his hand. As he exited, he stabbed his mother in the abdomen, stabbed her boyfriend in the arm, then fled.
Officers located the suspect nearby, along with what is believed to be the murder weapon.
The suspect was placed under arrest for murder and was booked into the Fullerton County Jail. No names will be released during this ongoing investigation until the Orange County Coroner notifies the next of kin.
