Trinity County Sheriff dismantles illegal grow-op, arrests two

TRINITY COUNTY // On August 7th, the Trinity County Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force — in conjunction with multiple other agencies — conducted a marijuana eradication operation in the Shasta Trinity National Forest.

With the assistance of United States Forest Service Law Enforcement officers, CA Department of Fish & Wildlife, and Campaign Against Marijuana Planning personnel, authorities eradicated “approximately 2600 marijuana plants, seized 52 pounds of processed marijuana, [and] collected and removed 1500 pounds of hazardous waste[.]”

20 pounds of hazardous pesticides and “4 major water diversions collecting thousands of gallons of water” were also located.

K9 officers apprehended two suspects: 20-year-old Sebastian Martinez-Arreola and 24-year-old Carlos Gutierrez-Gonzalez.

Both were booked into the Trinity County Jail on numerous charges related to the illegal grow-op and are held on $150,000 bail each.
