Jose Maravilla and Ignacio Sanchez-Gomez
SAN PABLO – Two suspected gang members have been arrested for allegedly killing a young man who was found lying dead from gunshot wounds three weeks ago.
Information developed during this homicide investigation has led San Pablo police detectives to believe that the motivation for the shooting is related to criminal gang activities.
The victim 22-year-old Adrian Segoviano-Hernandez was found dead on September 10. His bloody corpse was lying on a driveway outside a home located on 1800 block of Powell Street in San Pablo.
Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) police officers arrested one of the suspects Ignacio Sanchez-Gomez on September 28, a 24-year-old resident of San Pablo, while he was on board a train at the Concord BART station.
Later the same day, San Pablo police officers arrested Jose Maravilla, a 20-year-old resident of Richmond, when they located him near Willow and 14th streets in Oakland.
Sanchez-Gomez and Maravilla each face the same charges of murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit a crime, and participation in a criminal street gang. They both also have prior arrest records.
The two suspects were each booked at the Martinez Detention Facility, where they’re being held in custody with bail denied.
Investigators are continuing to gather information about the killing of Segoviano-Hernandez. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the San Pablo Police Department at 510-215-3150, or West Contra Costa Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 510-799-8255.
