OAKLAND — A retired real estate agent who just celebrated his 80th birthday last month was found bludgeoned to death inside his Oakland Hills home, and his son was arrested early Saturday on suspicion of murdering him.
Police officers responded to a call late Friday night to a home located at 6025 Margarido Drive, where they found the victim Ernest Clark, who was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards.
It appears that the victim had been beaten with a blunt object and fists.
Police also found the victim’s 40-year-old daughter, who was severely beaten, and she was transported to a hospital for medical treatment and later released.
Investigators at the murder scene determined the victim’s son probably broke into the home where he formerly lived, and then allegedly killed his father and beat up his sister—also using a blunt object and his fists.
Police located the suspected murderer about one mile away near the Claremont Country Club, located at 5295 Broadway Terrace.
The suspect Aaron S. Clark, 38, who lives in Oakland, was arrested on September 30 at 4:30 a.m., and taken to Santa Rita Jail, where he was later booked at 1:17 p.m.
Clark is charged with murder, and first-degree murder for the death of his father. He remains in custody at the county jail, ineligible for release on bail.
