KERN – On Wednesday evening after 7:00 PM, a deputy with the KCSD began following a stolen vehicle, and then attempted to initiate a stop with its driver.
The driver refused to stop and, as is so often the case in these situations, “a pursuit ensued.”
The vehicular chase ended at Sunrise Boulevard and Stockpile Road. However, 21-year-old Elias Andrade thought he could now continue his escape plan on foot.
Instead, the suspect found himself up a tree, literally. The deputy discovered him hiding in a tree, but still he refused to comply with the lawman.
A K-9 was called in to assist and thus began Andrade’s night as an incarcerated man.
His charges include evading arrest and possession of a stolen vehicle.
