RANCHO CUCAMONGA -The SBSD-Rancho Cucamonga Police Department announced last night the arrest of Jonathan Pineda Valladares (27) of Colton, and Dezron Terrell Daniel (24) of Colton for robbing Sears at gunpoint. The getaway driver, Justine Marie Buerman (23) of Riverside, was also taken into custody.
Officers responded to Sears Grand at 8250 Day Creek Boulevard at 6:30 PM on January 2nd when two males were seen stealing in the store. The suspects left the store and joined the getaway driver in an awaiting car.
Reports state, “Responding deputies attempted to contact the suspects at their vehicle but the suspect vehicle sped off through the parking lot onto Jack Benny Drive. A vehicle pursuit ensued after the suspect vehicle failed to stop while deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The pursuit traveled through several city streets with the suspect vehicle exceeding 80 mph and driving on the wrong side of the road. The suspect vehicle drove into a dirt field and became inoperable. The two male suspects fled from the vehicle and jumped over a fence.”
When the Ontario Police Department Airship located Valladares and Dezron, they were taken into custody without further incident. Buerman was located in the getaway car, then taken into custody.
Officers announced, “Through investigation, deputies learned the suspects threatened Sears’s employees and suspected a gun was involved during the theft. Deputy Girard and K-9 Dare located a loaded firearm by using scent articles belonging to the suspects. Deputies also discovered the vehicle the suspects were in was an unreported stolen vehicle from Corona.”
For robbery, evading a peace officer, and possession of a stolen vehicle, the three suspects were booked into West Valley Detention Center with a bail of $100,000 each. Additionally, Buerman had an outstanding warrant.
