EMERYVILLE — Two men on supervised probation for previous burglary convictions were arrested again on February 25 shortly before 4 a.m. after they were seen casing cars parked on a quiet resident street.
Police received a call from a resident who reported seeing two suspicious men, checking door handles and shining a flashlight inside vehicles, on the 5900 block of Vallejo Street.
Officers located two suspects nearby who matched descriptions provided by the caller. They were stopped for questioning near the intersection of 59th and Marshall streets.

Identification checks on the detained suspects indicated both men were subject to probationary searches. During subsequent searches officers found in their possession a screwdriver, flashlight and other suspected burglary tools.
Police arrested Vanderrick Vickers, Jr., 37 of Oakland and Antonio M. Grajeda, 42 of Emeryville. Both men were booked at Santa Rita Jail where they’re each being held in lieu of $5,000 bail.
Vickers is charged with second degree burglary, receiving stolen property, possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance, petty theft, and resisting an officer.
If he’s convicted, Vickers will be facing time in state prison. He was previously arrested 11 times for burglary and 7 times on drug charges, among other offenses.
His companion Grajeda is charged with second degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, and possession of a controlled substance. This was Grajeda’s fifth arrest on charges for burglary, and possession of a controlled substance.
