KERNVILLE — Early on Tuesday evening, a stabbing was reported on the 11300 block of Kernville Road. Responders found the victim suffering from a stab wound.
Investigation revealed that an argument had preceded the stabbing and 40-year-old Dennis Allen Welch was identified as the suspect. Around 8 AM on Wednesday, deputies went to the 100 block of Lakeshore Drive in Wofford Heights and placed him under arrest.
Welch was “booked into the jail for several criminal charges,” according to a KCSD press release. His bail was set at $750,000.
The victim, first listed in critical condition, is now reported by The Bakersfield Californian to be in stable condition.
