SALINAS – On Tuesday April 24th two detectives from the Crimes Against Agriculture division went to a residence in the 26000 block of Encinal Road. They were there to conduct a probation check.
Individuals on probation are required to observe the laws of the land, as well as other specified prohibitions.
They were checking on 23-year-old Orval Zane Burke, Jr., who stated that he was following the terms of his felony probation.
The detectives discovered that Burke actually was not observing his terms when they found six rifles and a semi-automatic handgun.
Burke’s two charges were being a felon in possession of a firearm and violating terms of his probation.
