SONORA – On the afternoon of May 4 a woman became combative at a bank and then with the SPD.
41-year-old Ceres resident Corrine Benavidez tried to assault staff at the bank, and then she met officer Durham.
Benavidez came at the officer with a clenched fist. Even after the officer forced the suspect to the ground, she tried to resist and fight. When her fist was incapable of attack, she tried to kick the officer.
Once in custody, officers searched her belongings and found meth. Benavidez’ charges are bringing contraband into jail, resisting arrest and battery on a police officer.
At this point she faces no charges for her actions at the bank.
