SONORA – Early in the morning on May 25 a deputy noticed a Ford Taurus with an “unreadable license plate.”
The Stop
Doing his duty, the officer stopped the vehicle on Highway 108 at Hess Avenue. However the driver, 55-year-old Jacolene Barton, would not comply.
In fact, she drove off and the chase was on. A dead end on Grey Wolf Court in Twain Harte ended the chase.
The Resistance
But it didn’t end the lack of cooperation. Barton refused to leave the vehicle. Her passenger, 377-year-old Brandon Kindg, joined her in the resistance.
Eventually Barton gave up and walked into custody. King continued his stance. The use of pepper spray got him out of the car, and he came out fighting. A taser had little effect on King, but soon enough he wore law enforcement bracelets.
The vehicle contained meth, paraphernalia…..and firecrackers.
The Charges
Barton’s old charges are failure to appear on a paraphernalia warrant and driving on a suspended license. Her new charges are evading, controlled substance, resisting arrest and possession of fireworks.
Similarly, for his part, TCS charged King with resisting arrest and possession of paraphernalia.
