YREKA – This story from up north features an assault, guns, a barricade and thankfully an arrest.
On May 28 at 8:30 pm the YPD responded to the 700 block of W. Miner Street. The call concerned 36-year-old Jarod Skillen and an assault he allegedly committed.
He was not on Miner Street , “driving recklessly” to his home in the 1300 block of Comstock Drive.
Skillen “barricaded himself inside with two juveniles.” He later released them. The report came out that he might have guns.
In addition, the suspect is a convicted felon who cannot possess firearms.
With a search warrant, officer’s entered Skillen’s home and arrested him without incident. Officers found 4 handguns and an AR-15 rifle.
Skillen has charges including felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of an assault rifle, and child endangerment.
