MERCED – Perhaps things have calmed down since the Chandelier Hookah Lounge melee on July 8, 2017.
On that night at 435 Main Street three individuals assaulted an officer. Now, the DA filed misdemeanor charges of battery against the trio.
Law enforcement identified the three as –
- Isa Bey, 23, of Oakland;
- Nedir Bey, 21, also of Oakland;
- Ciasonne Ratto-Foster, 21, of Richmond.
First, police revived information back then that an armed robbery suspect attended the lounge party.
Therefore they arrived to search for that suspect. However, once there, “some of those attending the party began to crown the officers.”
Next, “a confrontation ensued,” during which the trio assaulted the officer. Body cams captured the incident. The investigation took longer as investigators made efforts “to slow and enhance the footage.”
10 other people recorded the assault on their phones, but no one ever came forward with that additional evidence.
