SANTA CRUZ – Chalk up another arrest with K-9 Luna as the assisting officer.
An officer on patrol last Monday night contacted Kyle Rodgers, “a 36-year-old previously convicted felon.”

Rodgers sat in a van with expired registration.
The officer called for the K-9 Unit team – Officer Terry and his partner, K-9 Luna.
Since Rodgers is on probation, a sweep of his vehicle followed. Luna alerted the other officers to drugs and weapons ion the vehicles.

Rodgers carried meth and drug paraphernalia and several weapons. The weapons included a replica rifle BB gun, a sheathed sword and an unsheathed sword.
Because he is on probation, Rodgers is not allowed to possess weapons or drugs. Therefore, police towed his van and took him to jail.
