Police Arrest Two Suspects in Overnight Interrupted Burglary, Two Still at Large

PALO ALTO — The PAPD arrested two suspects detained during a coin shop burglary at The Coin Broker. It is located at 855 El Camino Real in the Town and Country Shopping Center in Palo Alto.
PAPD officers responded to a silent alarm call that occurred on July 21 around 2:30 a.m,. They witnessed four suspects standing in front of the business.
It appeared that the suspects had broken in through the front door. The suspects attempted to steal a large number of coins and cash found at the business.
According to police, “Responding officers in their patrol vehicles quickly blocked two suspects from escaping.” They arrested 25-year-old Jamal Deshawn Willie of Los Angeles and 20-year-old Jamel Kenneth Walker of Cypress.
Their charges are felony commercial burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime. Walker also faces a charge for committing a felony while out on bail.
However two suspects, upon seeing the police arrive, were able to escape in a Kia Soul. They began throwing change from the driver side window as they drove away at a high rate of speed.
Consequently, police recovered hundreds of coins along Embarcadero Road. The identity of the outstanding suspects is still unpublished.
