SISKIYOU – The SCSO conducted a large scale drug bust over much of the county on July 16 and 17. The focused operation involved a variety of law enforcement agencies.
Their primary target was illegal marijuana grow sites. 10 agencies and 80 personnel assisted in the massive bust, with 64 search warrants served at 64 sites.
Law enforcement seized marijuana plants, processed marijuana products, concentrated cannabis, weapons and currency.
Specifically, they seized 8,754 illegal plants and 963 pounds of processed marijuana. The SCSD estimates the value of this haul to be between $2.9 million and $3.9 million.
In addition, investigators seized 8 grams of meth and shut down a honey oil lab. While they “contacted” 29 people during the operation, they made one felony and three misdemeanor arrests.
The SCSD said, “These crimes are still under investigation. Anyone with information about illegal marijuana cultivation operations can contact the SCSO’s 24-hour Dispatch Center at (530) 841-2900.”
