Sac Sheriff Arrests Homicide Suspects
Homicide detectives from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department have arrested three people in connection with a shooting late Tuesday evening, August 21, 2012, in north Sacramento that left one man dead, according to an official Sheriff’s press release.
Gabriel McAllister, 30; Marcus Logan, 21; and Angel Tewksbury, 23, were reportedly all booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail late on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, on charges of robbery and murder. All are ineligible for bail at this time.
On August 21, 2012, at approximately 10:45pm, Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Somerset Apartments at 2526 Edison Avenue regarding calls of shots fired and a man down. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Timothy Schweiss, 25, shot once in the upper body – he was transported to a hospital and died of his injury.
Investigation throughout that evening reportedly led to the development of information that persons responsible for the shooting had retreated into the apartment complex. In response to this news, a perimeter containment of the complex was established as investigators processed evidence and conducted further investigations. The following morning, all three aforementioned suspects were located within the apartment complex and detained for questioning.
Based on interviews and evidence collected from the scene, investigators reportedly determined that McAllister, Logan and Tewksbury were all responsible parties to the crime. Although the specific actions of the suspects are not being disclosed, each one took an active role in the events that led to the murder. The Sheriff’s Department believes the incident was related to a marijuana transfer that culminated with the victim being robbed and fatally shot.
