SAN JOSE, Calif – The San Jose Police Department Homicide Unit has identified and arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of Keith and Bryan Lang.

20-year-old Availek Hepburn-Martin and 20-year-old Tearri Jaquille Richard were taken into custody and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for PC 187, Felony Murder. According to Sgt. Heather Randol of the SJPD, “On September 23, 2014 at 8:56 P.M., the San Jose Police Department 911 Communications Center received a call of a male shot inside a residence in the 100 block of Rancho Drive in San Jose.”

Officers responded and located two adult male victims who had both been shot at least once. The victims were identified as Bryan Lang and his father, Keith Lang. The wife and mother of the two men was also at home during the time of the shooting. Randol said, “The female victim’s injuries were not a result of gunshot wounds.”

The female victim was able to describe to officers what she had seen and heard during the attempted robbery. It is believed that when the two men entered the home they confronted Bryan and Keith, telling them to give them their money. That is when the two suspects shot the two men in an attempt to steal anything they could get their hands on that they thought would be of value.

Randol said, “Both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.” This was San Jose’s 27th and 28th homicide in 2014. No other information is being released at this time.

The SJPD is asking if anyone with information regarding the shooting incident is urged to contact Detective Sgt. Davies or Detective Smith of the San Jose Police Department’s Homicide Unit at (408)277-5283.
